MCPS seeking input from students for personalized learning opportunities student schedule options

Unlike ever before, our students have more flexibility and options in creating a personalized high school experience. This includes blended learning options and increased opportunities at the Area Technology Center.

You may have already received a letter concerning a student interest survey that we’ll use to help plan for the 2019-2020 school year. That letter appears below.

Also below, you’ll find four brief videos in which current high school students discuss their unique schedules and why they work for them.

Marion County Public Schools is pleased to announce the launch of another page that contains information regarding the Ready-Set-Grow dream. This is just one of the six big dreams Marion County Public Schools is investing in to make a positive difference in the lives of children, their families, and our community. This page will continue to grow with additional resources, so continue to check back for new content!

Preparing for Upcoming Weather Conditions

Marion County Public Schools would like to offer this friendly reminder that forecasted temperatures this week will be dipping into the negative degrees. While our buses and schools will be warm, students waiting for buses should remember to dress for the cold. The best approach is layering clothing (coat or jacket, sweatshirt or sweater, etc.), plus head and hand coverings. Please do not allow children to leave the house with exposed skin (ears, hands, legs, etc.), as this increases the chance of frostbite in cold weather. Working together we can beat the cold this winter season!

Parents may complete the Marion County Preschool 2015-16 Application prior to the registration event and turn the application in on Saturday, February 7.

They competed all Day on Saturday Jan. 26th and Jan. 27th. Playing in 8 games versus opponents of much bigger schools.  Coach Overstreet and Coach Terrell overcame big odds, because of having to forfeit the pool play game on Fri. 24th due weather and being out of school.  This made the team an 8th seeded team in the tournament.  Schools that the LMS Patriots beat on their course to the championship were Paintsville, Beaumont (which had a player that was 6’4), Scott County (whom was ranked very high in the state), and Corbin (whom they played in the championship game) only losing by 5 points.
