Transportation Changes

Just a reminder that Glasscock Elementary School no longer accepts transportation changes over the phone.  Because we are unable to witness that the person we are talking to is the parent/guardian, or generate any written record of the request, this becomes a safety concern for our students.   Without question, our number one concern is your child’s safety.

New Kindergarten Enrollment Requirement

Birth Date Cutoff for Kindergarten Enrollment Moved to August 1

As a result of House Bill 235, the birthday cutoff for entrance to kindergarten will change from October 1 to August 1 beginning the 2017-2018 school year.  This will require incoming kindergarten students to turn 5 on or before August 1.

Parents/guardians whose children do not meet the age requirements may inquire about the early entrance petition process by contacting the Marion County Board of Education at 270-692-3721.  The deadline for submitting a petition for the 2017-2018 school year is June 15, 2017.
