The plan is as follow:
Bus #s 31, 72, 101, 111, 112, 131, 132, 133 would transfer 6\7 grade students at CES to a bus that would take these students to SCMS. Which bus will do this has NOT been determined yet. This bus would leave CES and go directly to SCMS. Whichever bus does do this will transfer their 8-12 graders to another bus that would take those students to\from the main campus. In the afternoons the 6/7 grade bus would load first at SCMS and bring these students to CES to transfer to their home bus.
Danville Hwy\Gravel Switch area
Bus #s 32, 51, 52, 153, 163 would transfer 6\7 grade students at LMS to a bus that would take these students to SCMS. Which bus will do this has NOT been determined yet. This bus would leave LMS and go directly to SCMS, while this bus’s elementary and 10-12 would transfer and ride another bus from LMS in the mornings. In the afternoons the 6/7 grade bus would load first at SCMS and bring these students to GES to transfer to their home bus. One of the above buses that remain starting on this campus would pick up the transfer bus from SCMS 8/9 students at LMS and 10-12 students at MCHS and transfer at GES.
We will be adding an in-town route, similar to 104 that only transports 6/7 grade students to and from SCMS. Since 2010-11, 2 routes have been eliminated so we would still have fewer routes than at one point in time. This additional route will not be able to transport all of the students, so there will be some that will shuttle from LES to\from SCMS.
Routes currently serving SCMS will not change; only 8th graders will come to\from main campus in the same manner that the current 9-12 graders do so.
Some routes may have to start a little earlier in the mornings than currently. Morning arrival times have been monitored and appear this will affect minimum number of routes.
This plan includes providing an activity bus each day. This bus will start at SCMS at 5:15 p.m. and bring 6/7 grade students to LMS, then load 8-12 graders on the main campus and return to SCMS. This will allow students the opportunity to participate in clubs, sports, and other extra-curricular activities after school.
