On behalf of the Marion County High School Council and the Marion County Board of Education, I am excited to announce that Mr. William Thad Elmore was unanimously selected as the high school principal. Mr. Elmore comes to Marion County High School with 18 years of experience in education at elementary, middle and high school levels. He is currently serving as the High School Principal at Washington County High School. He has also served as the assistant principal at T.K. Stone Middle in Elizabethtown, KY where he had also served as a Social Studies Teacher. Mr. Elmore comes to us with various awards including WHAS ExCEL Teacher of the Year, FCCLA Administrator of the Year 2015, Sallie Mae Teacher of the Year, and CIVITAS Civics 5th Region Teacher of the Year.
I believe that Mr. Elmore brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will support each and every student. His passion for teaching and learning along with building relationships will be a key ingredient to ensuring that “ALL” really means “ALL” for our MCHS family! I look forward to working with Mr. Elmore, the staff, the students and the families as we continue to DREAM BIG!
