2017-18 School Year Preschool Applications

Marion County Public Schools is accepting preschool applications for the 2017-18 school year. Those interested can download a copy of the Preschool/Headstart Application by clicking here. Completed applications can be submitted to Marilyn Gribbins at the Marion County Board of Education.

New Kindergarten Enrollment Requirement

Birth Date Cutoff for Kindergarten Enrollment Moved to August 1

As a result of House Bill 235, the birthday cutoff for entrance to kindergarten will change from October 1 to August 1 beginning the 2017-2018 school year.  This will require incoming kindergarten students to turn 5 on or before August 1. 

Parents/guardians whose children do not meet the age requirements may inquire about the early entrance petition process by contacting the Marion County Board of Education at 270-692-3721.  The deadline for submitting a petition for the 2017-2018 school year is June 15, 2017.
