Welcome to WMES students and families! My name is Joanie Bradshaw, known as Ms. Joanie around here, and this is my 25th year of teaching. I started my career at WM teaching 3rd grade in 1991 after graduating from Campbellsville College with a BS in Elementary Education. I went on to teach Kindergarten and 1st grades and finished my MA in Elementary Education in 1993. I was part of the first graduating class from what is now know as Campbellsville University. The following year I completed Reading Recovery training from University of Kentucky and have been the Reading Recovery teacher and literacy resource teacher at WM every since. Five years ago I also became certified to teach small intervention groups using the Comprehension Intervention Model. I love teaching reading! It is a wonderful experience watching a child learn to read!
Half the work of teaching a child to read is getting them to want to learn to read, so have fun with it and enjoy this quaility time spent with your child. And of course you can always contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need more specific help. I hope everyone has a great school year! Happy reading! Ms. Joanie
