We are so excited about the 2013-2014 school year in which our students, staff, and parents will DREAM, Believe & ACHIEVE! The book, DREAM by Susan B. Bosak, serves as the inspiration to our new motto. The following quote from the book says it best - “To grow a dream, you need the BELIEVE of childhood, the DO of youth, and the THINK of experience. You need all three.”
This summer has been a busy time for Marion County Public Schools—teachers, administrators, support staff, board members, council members, & other school volunteers alike. We have worked hard to make sure that everything is ready for the children. All elementary school staff, pre-school through 5th grade, have been working to prepare lessons for the new reading series. Middle school and high school staff have worked diligently through a variety of professional development activities to ensure student achievement is their first priority. ALL staff will participate in a Positive Behavior Intervention Training on August 5th in order to reinforce the importance of building positive relationships with ALL children.
I am currently working with staff to develop a 30-60-90 day plan to address ways to improve student achievement. This plan will focus on the first 30 days of school, the next 60 days of school, and then the last 90 days of school. The 30-60-90 day plan will provide a road map for student success!
My dream for the children of Marion County is to have the education that is needed for them to ACHIEVE their DREAMS!8/6/2013
