MCHS is part of the Kentucky Art Education Association which holds a state high school art competition each year. We are designated to the Caveland region along with Adair, Washington, Taylor, and Hart counties . Winners from each regional exhibit move on to the state competition. This year, over 200 entries were submitted to our regional competition in the following categories: drawing, ceramics, sculpture, fashion design, textile design, digital design, photography, media art, painting, and mixed media. MCHS submitted 17 pieces to the competition, 7 placed. The All-State award ceremony will be held at the Hellman Creative Center in Covington, Kentucky on May 5.
All MCHS artwork not moving to state will be on display during the Middle and High School Art Show this week at the Heritage Center in downtown Lebanon. The show will be open Thursday and Friday (April 11th and 12th) from 3:00 – 5:30pm.
