Two MCPS administrators named to 2020 Kentucky Women in Education Leadership cohort

KWEL 2020

Two Marion County Public Schools administrators have been named to the 2020 Kentucky Women in Education Leadership (KWEL) cohort. Glasscock Elementary Principal Angie Akers and Marion County Knight Academy Principal Sara Brady are among 33 exceptional women leaders from across the state that were selected to join KWEL by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators.

“I’m incredibly proud to have these two exceptional district leaders join KWEL,” MCPS Superintendent Taylora Schlosser said. “I believe it shows that our district has some of the strongest, most dedicated school leaders in the state.”

According to a release from KASA, “KWEL is designed for women working in P-12 public education who wish to advance their careers. KWEL members benefit from a support system, leadership development opportunities, career advancement, shared experiences through a network of on-going professional growth and development, coaching and mentoring, and reward and recognition for exemplary leaders.”

Those selected were chosen through a competitive application process. The group will meet later this month in Louisville for an induction ceremony and leadership forum.
